Creative Change Collective (Project Director)
AT THE CREATIVE CHANGE COLLECTIVE formerly known as StreetCones, we launched our new name in 2022. We have a new logo, website and socials. The decision to rebrand has been ongoing for some time and was taken as a result of consultations with both our internal and external stakeholders. The old brand has served us well but after eight years the time has come to move into the next Act with a new brand that communicates our core values more effectively.
Everything we continue to do is underpinned by a desire to use the Arts and creativity to help affect positive change for the individuals, groups and communities we work with. This objective is encapsulated perfectly by one of our favourite quotes:
‘Art isn’t a mirror to reflect the world it’s a hammer with which to shape it.’

Over the last year we have continued to develop our existing work with people in or at risk of entering the justice system. Our in person and online ROAD TO CHANGE workshops continue to be delivered to unpaid work participants in Glasgow as well as Aberdeenshire, Borders, East Ayrshire, Highlands, North Lanarkshire & West Dunbartonshire. Our SOMETHING TO SAY Youth project which started in Glasgow supported by One Glasgow has now gone on to be delivered in East Ayrshire and the Highlands with more groups planned across Scotland. Intro Video > CLICK THE VIDEO LINK BELOW
We continue to produce SHORT FILMS on behalf of clients with a particular focus on lived experience. Recent additions include films in Glasgow commissioned by Unpaid Work (Personal Placements) and the Early and Effective Intervention team.

New SCHOOL PROJECTS include an anti-social behaviour theme in Glasgow that targets primary school pupils using a preventative model in partnership with Glasgow Health & Social Care Partnership (GHSCP) & Sanctuary Housing. Also, a drug use and coercive relationship themed project targeting schools in Aberdeenshire.
This year we continued to grow our tech/broadcast expertise producing and hosting livestreams for our projects and clients. Some examples of our online streams where everyone is online (host/panel):

The strong outcomes and data from our justice space experience has helped us expand into recovery this year. We now have several front-line recovery specific groups running in Glasgow. So many people have supported RECOVERING VOICES but in particular Glasgow Alcohol & Drug Partnership (ADP), The Corra Foundation, Scottish Government, Police Scotland, Glasgow Elevate, CrossReach, Turning Point & Phoenix Futures. We have new groups planned for West Dunbartonshire, North Ayrshire and Renfrewshire with a Scotland wide strategy being developed.
On a personal note, I would like to thank the Board of Trustees for offering me the role of Project Director. Also, the delivery team and participants – without them we have nothing. My intention is to continue to build our work with people in or at risk of entering the justice system. People in or considering going into recovery. Basically, anyone who is struggling and in search of a better outcome or more positive destination we want them to become part of our collective.
